Felting

Annette sent me the pattern link for the felted purses she has made. They are an easy knit that does not take much time at all and will make great gifts for the girls in the family. I had to man it up a little LOL making a purse is not exactly the manly thing to do but neither is knitting and spinning. I aint the only guys that does these things thou there just is not very many of us. Thats good thou more attention form the ladies for all of us LOL. So back to the purse, I used orange BL and gray Shetland yarn and added a flap to make it look more like a messanger bag. Here is a pic of it before I felted it. Here is one after I felted it.I have been spinnig alot lately since almost all the rabbits are cut down right now and I have yarn hanging everywhere. I have been saving all my angora brushings and spun them all up together the other night. Looks really good with chestnut white red and black wool all spun in one yarn. Once I get the twist set I will take a pic and post for everyone to see. God Bless keep those bunns cool!

Hard at work!

This is what the bunnies have been up to the past couple of months 5lbs 2oz of yummy goodness!
Since I don't make it to many shows I have been working on wool production. This is what I have collected since the last time I sold my wool the end of Jan or Feb. The big bag is all white but there is also some black, chestnut and a little Sable FA. I saved some red FA and I dyed some GA pink for myself to spin. I found I have been breeding for body type too much and ignoring density so I have alot of work to do before everyone is producing like they should be. A lot of judges pay more attention to body and less to wool when our standard says the opposite I guess I have been to.

There are still 4 more bunns in the barn that will need cut down next month if I can keep coats that long so I am thinking of finding a fleece to blend some of it with, which means more dying! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend God Bless.

Its been a while!

Its been forever since I posted something for you guys! So much has happened since then but I will try to keep it short. I finally made it to Ohio to see the ladies at the Mini Convention I traded bunns with Janet, she gave me the cutest little fawn doe in the world I promise I will get a pic soon she is growing fast and is very sweet. I got some red FA from Lisa for my Fawn Giant project had have 2 litters on the way cant wait to see what colors I get there.

This weekend was my show in Columbus IN! We had a Specialty show and 2 open shows and I even showed this weekend makes 3 shows this year. Now all the bunns are getting cut down. We had enough for legs in each breed even Giants. In the Specialty Kathy Obrakta won BOB French, Irene Martin form Ohio BOB Satin, Jeanie Ruedger BOB English and I got BOB Giant. Kathy went on to win BOS in the Specailty. I think results for the next 2 shows were about the same other than Sharon Mays taking BOB with a very nice Giant doe in the second she should have won in the Specialty too check this girl out! Here is a pic of our judge Donyelle juding Eglish AnograsHere she is judging Satin Angoras and Sharon in the back ground.

Judging French Sharon in the background
Judging Giants! GO GIANTS!!!!
Donyelle is one of our newest judges and is doing great! We were very happy to have her judging the specialty for Angoras this weekend and I look foward to her judging my breed again. Well that is how God has blessed me in the last couple of weeks hope your have been blessed to!

I took your place.

Bub emailed me this poem so I thought I would share with all of you. Sometimes we just need to slow down and think of others! God Bless.

One day a man went to visit a church. He arrived early, parked his car, and got out. Another car pulled up near him, and the driver told him, "I always park there. You took my place!"

The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That's my seat! You took my place!"

The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing. After Sunday School, the visitor went into the church sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, "That's where I always sit. You took my place!"

The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still said nothing. Later, as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, "What happened to you?"

The visitor replied, "I took your place!!"

Baptized

I was baptized today and finally joined the church, so I now have a home church and a church family. I was really nervous before hand (I didn't want to get up infront of everyone) but after words I realized it wasn't so bad. I got a pleasant surprise today to find out that Dan's little brother John was getting baptized as well. There were 3 of us doing it all together today which made it a lot easier since I was not the only one. My parents, little brother, niece, and nephew all came to watch and support me today which made it very special having my family there in church with me.

After church Mom and Dad went to get chicken and cake while Austin and I went to get feed for the rabbits and dogs. I should have known not to take Austin to TSC with me I knew he would get me in trouble. You see they have baby chics and I alway make a quick tour around the chics to check them out and hurry and get me feed to get out before I end up with chics. Well that didn't work today and we will just blame Austin since he made me do it LOL. Well we walked out with feed and 15 baby chics. Not sure what kind they are the tag just said assorted mixed. Once they get so big TSC puts them on sale to try and sell them before they start jumpin out of the water troughs. That and Austin making me was all I needed to be pushed over the edge. How can you tell your 7 year old nephew no?There was a time right after High School when I sold all my animals and didn't have anything but a dog. How things have changed in my old age and for the better! I am getting back to how I use to be before the bad years as I call them since I made so many stupid decisions. Not sure my parents are ready for all the critters again but I am! I dont know how anyone ever lives life without pets I still dont know how I did it, but I thank God everyday for giving me the second chance to live and what a great life I do live! God Bless and have a blessed week!

Great Day

It was in the 80s today and not humid at all so it was the perfect time to outside all day! I got all my cages burned and disinfected thank God! Now its time to get the new cage hung and drop nest boxes put in a couple of my litter pens.

We got some new fish for the pond today flathead minnows, jumbo tadpoles, and black crappie. I got some pics of my brother putting them in the pond.My older brother and his kids brought back the fuzzy lops today. The kids wanted to Thriantans to show in 4H. One of the fuzzy does they had brought over a while back to have babies in the barn. So I get to keep the baby now. He is a REW buck named Dusty's Prince Caspien. I think I spelled that right LOL. Is he not the cutest little thing in the world. I think it works out better with me keeping the fuzzys. The kids dont have to worry about grooming them and making sure they get enough hay and I can spin the fuzzy wool! I was on the American Fuzzy Lop club blog today and there was an entry about a woman spinning her fuzzy wool. Since the give so little wool she just puts all the different colors together and spins it all at once to get a multi colored yarn. I will have to save some brushings and try this. Hope everyones day was as perfect as mine God Bless!

3 Weeks I cant believe it!!!

Well 3 weeks ago today I left for a trip to SC with Dan and Tonya to see a couple preachers, the preachers turned out to be a flop (they believe in Lordship Salvation) and we left at the intermission but the trip was not a total waste look where were went!THE OCEAN!!! We went to folly beach 2 days in a row it was so nice down there I really didn't want to come home at all. You have not lived until you go to the ocean and eat fresh sea food! WOW shrimp clams oysters fish and scallops YUMMY I'm getting hungry again. This is a pic of the church we went to, how awesome is that! It was so on a college campus in Charelston SC. The town itself was nothing to look at but the campus was nice and the beaches rock as always. This was only the second time I had seen the ocean and it was the first time Tonya has ever seen it. Its the only place I know where you can go in water up mid thigh and still get soaked! While all this was great the reason I am so excited and happy about it being 3 weeks is because the day we left was MY FIRST DAY OF NOT SMOKING AND ITS NOW BEEN 3 WEEKS OF A SMOKE FREE LIFE!!!!!! I am so happy even if I am eating enough to make a horse sick and I am getting so fat LOL.

I hope that this inspires someone reading this blog that smokes to quite as well. I was up to a pack and a half a day and now nothing. God is amazing I never thought I could do this but I have and I am making it! Not only is smoking looked down at by the world but it is unbiblical to boot here are a couple of verses to study form my KJV bible.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

2 Corintians 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness on the fear of God.

If anyone needs any prayers please let me know and I will pray for your and offer advice to help. God Bless I pray each of you find Salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ!
